Well, well, well what have we here?

I examined the famous photo of Franz Schubert and his two friends and I asked Anselm Huettenbrenner who are you? You look familiar. Well by the end of the investigation I had identified Dad as Therese Grob and Mum as Anselm Huettenbrenner. Franz Schubert is the baby Frank Reitzenstein. Sorry folks. Friend and family are forever. We'll be back.

How did I do it?

...Josef Huettenbrenner, whose name has already been mentioned in these pages. The unfortunate destruction of certain of Schubert's scores in his possession must not be taken as proof of his want of appreciation of the composer's genius. On the contrary, he was an ardent admirer of the gifted musician, and expressed his opinion so strongly, in season and out of season, that Schubert, who was altogether insensible to flattery, treated him with rudeness, exclaiming on one occasion, " Why, that man likes everything I do." But Huettenbrenner's praise was not lightly given nor valueless, for he was himself a cultured musician, and rendered Schubert considerable assistance in arranging his orchestral works for the piano, in his communications with foreign publishers, and in other labours of a kind most distasteful to the composer.

Therese Grob (16 November 1798 – 17 March 1875) was the first love of the composer Franz Schubert. The composer's friend Anselm Hüttenbrenner recalled — twenty-six years after Schubert's death — a conversation in which Schubert had said "I loved someone very dearly and she loved me too … . For three years she hoped I would marry her; but I could not find a position which would have provided for us both."

A Marriage Consent Law enforced by Metternich expressly forbade marriages by men in Schubert's class if they could not verify their ability to support a family. Schubert's application in April 1816, eventually rejected, for the post of music teacher at a teachers' training college in Ljubljana (then known as Laibach) may have been in part driven by his awareness to gain some financial security to make marriage to Therese possible.

Metternich was a Catholic who also a Jew elevated to the Nobility. We call them Zionists now. eg Sarkozy.

My Mother worshipped Beethoven.

He's my big love!

The death of Ludwig van Beethoven on 26 March 1827 followed a prolonged illness. It was witnessed by his sister-in-law and by his close friend Anselm Hüttenbrenner, who provided a vivid description of the event. Beethoven's funeral was held three days later, and the procession was witnessed by a large crowd. He was buried in the cemetery at Währing, although his remains were moved in 1888 to Vienna's Zentralfriedhof.

So there you go folks, don't scoff at Idiosyncracy. She was his best friend amd saw the poor man die!

Also she knows Mix Margaret Jones. who was my sister's first boyfriend and came to dinner when I was a teenager. I read once that Debussy called himself a Merovingian, as I call myself today. Life is indeed a mystery.

Willy Hellmuth Reitzenstein

Mein Lieblingskomponist ist Franz Schubert. (My favourite composer is Franz Schubert - 5 days before he died.)

Also my late father sent a psychic at the exact time that I was carrying a cheque with my sister's portion of our inheritance from him, with an important message.

The heart that truly loves never forgets. I remember once having the thought that I was the custodian of Viennese music because ocassionally I wrote a waltz like Schubert in binary form. More recently I studied Schuberts works more seriously and have written many after Cindy suggested that I was Franz Schubert in a former life.

In case you think my parents have no talent, I haven't posted their art because there is too much to scan.

If I got all that right then mum wrote this symphony and scored the great symphony from piano to orchestra because Franz was too lazy. How embarassing. Yeah she's a perfectionist.
